Wildlife

The most powerful encounters happen rarely when the shutter clicks.
They happen when a wild animal decides you are not a threat.
I trust it to let me walk away.
It trusts me to leave without a trace and causing harm.

"The photograph is never yours alone. The animal chose to reveal itself. That is a privilege, not a right."

Von Begegnungen

Every photograph tells only part of the story.
Von Begegnungen shares the moments behind the image—the waiting, the surprises, the emotions, and the lessons nature leaves behind.
Nature doesn't need me.

Wildlife photography will never be free of ethical questions.
Every time I step into nature, I become part of a world that would exist perfectly well without me.
I don't believe there is a perfect way to photograph wildlife.
I simply try to make the most responsible choices I can.
Some days that means walking away.
Some days it means waiting longer.
And sometimes it means choosing not to take the photograph.

"Perhaps the photographs that define us most are the ones we choose not to take."
